Interview questions you should always prepare for

It’s important to be as prepared as possible for an interview which involves considering the types of questions you’ll be asked. Whatever role you are interviewing for, there are a number of common questions that you should always be prepared to answer.

  1. Why do you want to work for our brand/business?

    It’s incredibly important to research the company you’re interviewing with and determine what it is about their offering, ethos or culture that resonates with you.

  2. Why are you looking to leave your current role?

    We suggest focusing on professional development and growth when answering this question and avoiding any negativity.

  3. What do you love about this industry?

    This is an opportunity to demonstrate your work ethic and attitude. We love to hear responses involving problem solving, role variation and enjoying a challenge.

  4. What are your career aspirations?

    Answering this question requires some careful consideration. Be sure to tailor your answer to fit the business or role that you’re apply for otherwise you risk giving the impression that you don’t plan on sticking around.

  5. Tell me about your biggest career achievement to date.

    This question is very likely to come up at some stage during the interview process. Think about an achievement that demonstrates your skill, work ethic or ability to work well as a part of a team.

  6. How do you think you could add value to our business?

    When answering this question we suggest referencing your experience and how this relates to the business or role that your applying for. If you don’t have any experience to draw on, focus in on any transferrable skills.

  7. How do you like to be managed?

    It’s important to answer this question truthfully as despite how much you like the sound of the role and the business, it’s important that you and those looking to hire you are confident you will fit the company and teams culture and working style.
