Q+A with Frame Candidate Sarah Borrell
We caught up with Sarah Borrell, the Brand Manager at Fashion Society and a previous Frame candidate to check in on how she’s settled into her new role. We loved working with Sarah to place her in her role at Fashion Society.
Sarah was also one of our models in the recent Frame photoshoot, along with another wonderful Frame candidate Emily Flavely.
Q+A with Sarah Borrell
What is your current role, and for which company?
Brand Marketing Manager at Fashion Society
Tell us about your experience with Frame when going through the recruitment process for this role?
First impressions were great! The Frame team really got to know who I was and what I was looking for in my next role. I felt like I was really well looked after and they presented me with options that were all exactly what I was looking for. They helped me prepare for each of my interviews, which gave me the confidence going in as a strong candidate. Throughout my interviews and negotiations they were always right by my side giving me advice to make sure I was happy with my decision. The team even followed up with a phone call a week into my new job to check in.
What do you love most about working at Fashion Society?
I love the culture we have, we’re almost like a little family. Everyone is so great to work with and we all share the same passion for style and clothing. I am very grateful to work for the owners, Chris and Abbey as they trust and allow me to let my creative side shine.
What advice would you give to someone looking to work in the Fashion industry in the Marketing space?
I personally think you’ve hit the jackpot in marketing. Marketing will come naturally to you if you’re encouraging people to purchase clothes you love yourself. It’s a very creative and reactive market that is constantly evolving, so it’s a great challenge in itself!
Why have you chosen Christchurch as your city?
I am a born and bred Cantabrian. I have lived in Auckland, Dunedin and Melbourne but nothing beats being home and close to my family and friends.
Who do you look to for style inspiration?
@Jadetunchy
@Nadiaanya
@Laurahadlow
@streetstyle_daily
What are your favourite brands?
Samsoe Samsoe, Anine Bing and Mahsa
What are your key career goals for the remainder of the year?
To keep growing in the digital space, try new things and push myself out of my comfort zone. As we are a small team we all wear many hats and help each other where we can, therefore I’d like to encourage others to acknowledge what their interests and passions are and allow me to help achieve them.
