Boutique Store Manager, Premium Footwear | Christchurch
Stunning boutique located in central Christchurch
Above-market salary, staff wardrobe and product benefits
Tuesday to Saturday schedule
About the Business & the Role
This is a well-established boutique footwear retailer in the heart of Christchurch’s CBD, with a premium store and a growing e-commerce platform. The business specialises in handcrafted footwear and accessories from leading independent designers and makers across Europe and New Zealand, with collections curated around quality, craftsmanship, and design-led product.
As an independent, family-owned business, the team works closely together across all areas in a collaborative environment where initiative, care, and a genuine passion for product are valued.
We are looking for a capable, business-minded Store Manager to lead the team and support the continued growth of the business. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being on the shop floor and taking ownership of both sales performance and day-to-day operations.
Reporting directly to the owner, you’ll oversee the daily management of the store and sales team, and contribute to product sourcing and brand research, with potential involvement in both local and international buying. While retail management experience is ideal, we are open to driven individuals with a passion for retail from a variety of backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the team on the shop floor, supporting both sales and customer experience
Coach and develop staff in product knowledge, styling, and selling skills
Monitor store performance and guide the team to achieve sales targets
Oversee store operations, including stock, visual merchandising, and online orders
Build and maintain strong customer relationships, creating loyal, returning clients
Support the recruitment, training, and development of staff
To succeed in this role, you will be:
A confident manager with a strong understanding of sales and customer service
Organised and efficient, able to prioritise, delegate, and stay calm under pressure
Commercially aware, with an interest in improving performance and results
Customer-focused, with a genuine care for creating a great experience
Someone with a strong eye for fashion, particularly in luxury footwear and visual merchandising
Strong in your belief in the product, quickly building knowledge and confidently communicating its craftsmanship, story, and value
Able to build a supportive, motivated team culture where people are encouraged to do well
Interested in the broader business, with curiosity around areas such as e-commerce, marketing, or operations
The Opportunity
A genuine opportunity to grow with the business and evolve your role over time
Exposure to buying, product, and broader business strategy, including sourcing new and unique products
Work closely with the owner in a collaborative environment where ideas are valued
Above-market, competitive salary package
A supportive, team-focused culture built on mutual respect and high standards
Staff wardrobe and product benefits
Tuesday to Saturday schedule
If you enjoy working in a design-led retail environment and are looking for a role where you can take ownership, contribute ideas, and make a difference, we would love to hear from you. Please email Bindy Williams-Lough at Bindy@frameconsulting.co.nz
