A great opportunity for an experienced buyer or category manager to join a well-established New Zealand fashion retailer on a 3-month contract. Open to contractors. Sitting within the buying team and working closely with merchandise planning and marketing, this role is central to driving category performance and profitability across the business.

What you'll be doing
Managing category performance to deliver sales growth and profitability
Analysing sales and stock data to identify trends, opportunities and risks
Overseeing stock allocations, replenishments, transfers and end of season clearance
Managing slow-selling stock through markdowns and clearance coordination
Collaborating across buying, marketing and merchandise planning on seasonal strategies
Preparing sales analyses and assisting in setting buying budgets
Communicating product performance insights to support future planning
Visiting stores regularly and reporting feedback to the wider team
What you'll bring
Solid experience in buying, category management or merchandise planning
Strong analytical ability with confidence interpreting sales and stock data
Highly organised with great attention to detail
A strong communicator who works well across teams
Proactive, adaptable and comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on tasks
