We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Assistant to join Trelise Cooper’s design team. You will be someone who thrives in a dynamic role, with a varied job description that includes creating seasonal mood boards, developing sketches, coordinating with suppliers, sampling, and working with in-house pattern makers.
You’ll gain invaluable experience in the heart of one of New Zealand’s most cherished fashion enterprises.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to;
Create seasonal mood, style, colour, and trend boards
Set up detailed technical sketches
Liaise with factories and offshore suppliers to ensure timely sample production
Maintain organised records of samples, fabric swatches, and other materials
Provide production support, including inspecting shipping samples and bulk shipments
As the successful candidate, you will have:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator
Highly organised with effective time management, capable of multitasking, working autonomously, and proactively seeking learning opportunities
Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills while fostering teamwork
Demonstrates a keen attention to detail and a genuine interest in fashion trends and brands
Previous experience in a similar role
