


Merchandise Assistant - Fashion (Christchurch head office)

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented fashion graduate with 2 years+ experience to join one of Christchurch’s biggest fashion head offices. As the Merchandise Assistant, you will report directly to the Merchandise Manager, supporting them with customer service and administration to ensure that produced garments meet the required standard of fit, design, and quality.
It is essential that you are experienced with Excel and Word, have excellent attention to detail, proven customer service skills, and the ability to build quality relationships.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Support with fabric sourcing and product development, including price negotiation and order placement
Provide administrative support, and prepare range plans and seasonal costing documents, sales sample delivery schedules, and other associated documentation
Assist with customer service around delivery extensions, credits, and returns
Sample preparation of ranges for photoshoots
Sourcing or checking of appropriate fabric qualities, accessories, and other components to enable successful completion of orders
Assist the sales and marketing team with the preparation of documentation and copy to promote seasonal ranges
Assist the sales & product team to prepare seasonal order book material. Liaise with the graphic artist to develop the material
Assist the garment tech team with sample checking for measurements and quality

As the successful candidate, you will have:
2-3 years+ relevant experience
Sales & customer service experience

Sound judgment, wise decision making, and strategic thinking.
Negotiation and influencing skills
A can-do attitude
