National Operations Manager
(Auckland-based role)
We’re working with an established and highly regarded New Zealand fashion brand to appoint a National Operations Manager. This is a thoughtfully scoped senior role, suited to an experienced operator who brings structure, clarity and consistency to complex retail environments — while working in close partnership with creative and commercial teams.
This position plays a key role in ensuring the brand’s national retail network operates seamlessly, sustainably and in line with its values. It’s a role for someone who leads with quiet confidence, balances commercial rigour with people-centred decision making, and understands the nuance of luxury retail operations.
The role
As National Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for the operational rhythm that supports store performance across New Zealand. Working closely with the store managers, finance and head office teams, you’ll ensure the right frameworks, systems and standards are in place — enabling stores to focus on delivering an elevated customer experience.
Key responsibilities
Guide and refine national retail operations to ensure consistency, efficiency and care across all stores
Translate business strategy into clear, practical operating frameworks that support long-term performance
Oversee sales, labour and cost disciplines with a measured, commercial approach
Partner with retail leaders on workforce planning, capability development and succession
Ensure best-practice compliance across employment, health & safety and brand standards
Lead operational change with sensitivity and clarity, supporting teams through periods of evolution
Provide considered reporting and insights to inform leadership decision-making
Act as a trusted operational partner between stores and head office teams
About you
Proven experience in multi-site retail operations, ideally within fashion or luxury-led environments
A calm, credible and detail-oriented operator with strong commercial judgement
Naturally collaborative, with the ability to influence and inspire others
Comfortable working with data and systems, using insight to guide thoughtful decisions
Experienced in leading change in a way that maintains trust, culture and momentum
Highly organised, measured and consistent in your approach
Aligned to quality, craftsmanship and customer experience
Why this opportunity
This is a role with depth and influence, offering the opportunity to help shape the operational foundation of a respected New Zealand fashion brand. You’ll work alongside an engaged leadership team in an environment that values considered growth, strong culture and operational excellence.
If you’re an experienced operations leader who enjoys bringing polish, structure and calm to complex retail environments, this role offers a meaningful next step.
You don’t have to have worked in luxury or fashion apparel before. We are seeking someone with a depth of experience across retail operations and who has a sound understanding of people and culture/ HR.
