OPERATIONS MANAGER, NZ KNITWEAR FASHION BRANDS

US$0.00
  • Newly created senior leadership role

  • Partner directly with the CEO

  • Above market salary

We’re seeking an experienced and dedicated Operations Manager to join a family owned New Zealand business with a portfolio of premium brands, all locally manufactured, entering a new stage of growth.

This is a true "people and processes" leadership role. Working closely with the CEO, you'll take ownership of the business operating cycle, ensuring key milestones are delivered on time and in full across wholesale, retail and ecommerce channels. With seven direct reports across sales, retail and production, you'll lead a culture of accountability, collaboration and executional excellence.

We're seeking an experienced operations leader, ideally with a production or manufacturing background and a strong understanding of lead times and supply chain. You'll bring a solutions focused mindset, the confidence to take ownership of problems, and the ability to bring people with you.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading day to day operations, troubleshooting issues and removing bottlenecks across production, warehouse and dispatch.

  • Building, improving and documenting processes and operating procedures, working with the team to implement change.

  • Leading regular WIPs and operations meetings, with clear communication on objectives, targets and priorities.

  • HR management across production, warehouse, sales and retail, including performance reviews and building a strong team culture.

  • Forward planning resource against orders and demand to deliver on time in full across wholesale and own channels.

  • Managing yarn and component ordering, stock forecasting, stock-takes, quality control and clearance events such as factory and archive sales.

  • Coordinating contract knitting, plant maintenance scheduling and supporting the design and tech team from prototyping through to final production.

  • Working closely with the CEO on the sales budget, overseeing the sales calendar, reporting against targets and tracking team performance.

  • Supporting retail stores and ecommerce with seasonal launches, activations, stock processes and operational updates.

  • Acting as the NetSuite superuser for the business, with training provided.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in an operations or production management role, ideally within manufacturing, apparel or a product-led business.

  • A strong understanding of production, lead times, stock management and supply chain.

  • Strong people leadership skills, with experience managing and developing multi-disciplinary teams.

  • A track record of implementing and improving systems and processes.

  • A solid financial understanding, including how operational decisions impact the P&L.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and comfort working in a lean team where everyone contributes.

  • NetSuite experience will be highly regarded, though it is not essential.

  • Legal right to work in New Zealand.

You will be rewarded with:

  • Above market salary.

  • A generous annual clothing allowance, plus staff discount across the full portfolio.

  • On-site parking.

  • A senior role with genuine influence, working alongside the CEO as the business grows and expands internationally.

  • The opportunity to build on newly streamlined processes and leave your mark on the culture of a family owned business.
