Celebrated for its modern femininity and thoughtful design, we are seeking an experienced Pattern maker to join the Sampling team of an iconic NZ fashion brand. With a strong presence in the local fashion industry and a loyal customer following, this is an opportunity to become part of a collaborative and creatively driven team dedicated to craftsmanship and innovation.
Working closely with the Design and Development teams, this role will see you responsible for developing and refining patterns from concept through to production. You’ll play a key role in achieving the best possible fit and finish across each garment, while contributing technical expertise and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced sample room environment.
Develop and adapt patterns from initial design concepts through to production
Create digital patterns using the PAD system
Conduct grading across a wide size range
Collaborate closely with Design and Development teams to bring concepts to life
Problem-solve technical and fit-related challenges throughout the development process
Prepare lay plans and production markers
Participate in garment fittings and provide technical recommendations
Ensure all spec sheets, construction details, and pattern documentation are accurate and production-ready
Manage workflow priorities to meet critical deadlines
3+ years’ experience in a Pattern Making role within the fashion industry
Strong experience using PAD systems and working with digital patterns
Excellent technical understanding of garment construction, fabrics, fit, and specifications
Confident grading across multiple size ranges
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly relay technical information
Highly organised with excellent time management skills
High attention to detail with a commitment to quality craftsmanship
