Production Assistant – Womenswear | Contract

US$0.00
  • Contract role with above market salary

  • Central Auckland with staff perks

  • Great team culture and product exposure

We're looking for a motivated, detail-driven Production Assistant to join a leading womenswear brand based in central Auckland. You'll work closely with the senior production team, designers, and buyers, helping manage production timelines, quality control, and all the behind the scenes detail that keeps collections running smoothly.

It's a hands-on role where no two days are the same, from managing samples and fabrics, tracking deliveries, and liaising with offshore suppliers, through to ensuring garments meet fit and quality standards.

In this role you will:

  • Work alongside the senior production team to bring collections from concept to final product

  • Oversee production processes, ensuring fit, quality, and construction standards are met

  • Communicate with offshore suppliers to maintain smooth workflows and relationships

  • Own the critical path and push for the best possible delivery outcomes

  • Organise and track samples, fabrics, and seasonal storyboards

  • Conduct QC checks on bulk production and troubleshoot any issues

  • Monitor repeat orders, margins, and seasonal costs

  • Lead weekly supplier meetings and keep purchase orders up to date

  • Identify and escalate risks, including coordinating buybacks where needed

  • Keep internal teams informed and moving, making sure the right decisions get made at the right time

  • Travel to suppliers as needed to maintain strong working relationships

You will bring:

  • 1–2 years' experience in garment production with an understanding of fabrications, fit, and construction

  • Strong Excel skills for tracking data and managing timelines

  • Clear communication and confidence liaising with offshore suppliers

  • A commercially aware mindset with a sharp eye for detail

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn new systems and processes

Perks of the role:

  • Competitive salary reflecting your experience

  • Genuine career growth and clear development pathways

  • Be part of a business actively working to reduce its environmental footprint

  • A collaborative, supportive environment where your ideas count

If you're ready to hit the ground running and make this role your own, get in touch with Bindy Williams-Lough at bindy@frameconsulting.co.nz.
