We have a rare and exciting opportunity as a Product Developer with one of New Zealand’s leading designer fashion brands! Known for intelligent, considered design, the brand creates effortless clothing defined by clean silhouettes, cleverly curated colour and functional details.
We are looking for a driven and detail-focused Product Developer to work closely with our clients' Design and Production team. You will play a key role in the sampling, development, and production of their seasonal collections from concept through to completion. This is a hands-on position, offering plenty of variety day to day.
Key Responsibilities:
Working with the design team to develop collections from initial concept through to final production
Oversee the end-to-end production process, ensuring garments meet fit, quality, and construction expectations
Conduct fit sessions on fit models, reviewing measurements and supporting fit corrections and design adjustments
Prepare detailed technical specifications for garments and fabrics, including measurements, construction notes, and technical drawings
Review lab dips, strike offs, test weaves, production fabrics, trims, and samples
Communicate fit and construction changes to offshore suppliers
Maintain production timelines by managing critical paths and updating production trackers
Organise, track, and manage samples and fabric libraries
Coordinate fabric and garment testing to ensure all products meet internal standards
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production or quality issues as they arise
What we’re looking for:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in garment production, with strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, fittings, and production processes
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for technical drawings and specification creation
Strong Excel skills for managing specs, timelines, and production data
Confident communicator with experience working with offshore suppliers
Highly detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Strong organisational and time management skills
