We have a long-term recruitment partnership with one of New Zealand’s most loved fashion designer brands: Karen Walker. We’re delighted to be supporting them by sourcing a pivotal role in their retail team, a Senior Store Manager for their Ponsonby boutique. 

With an aim to create beautiful and well-crafted Items to be loved by people for decades, Karen Walker is a local company with global reach. As the Senior Store Manager of their Ponsonby boutique, you will drive store performance, shape team culture, and contribute to strategic initiatives across the retail group. This role blends operational excellence with leadership influence, making you a key player in both store-level success and broader business development.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all aspects of daily store operations, ensuring a premium customer experience.

  • Lead the team to consistently exceed sales targets, KPIs, and budget expectations.

  • Manage staffing plans, training schedules, and performance development.

  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting, including weekly banking and financial summaries.

  • Mentor and coach team members in Ponsonby and support development across the wider retail group.

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance review processes.

  • Execute visual merchandising strategies that drive engagement and conversion.

  • Provide feedback on product placement and performance to inform future planning.

  • Act as a senior support to the Head of Operations and Retail, contributing to training, communications, and strategic initiatives.

The role comes with:

  • 3 years+ in a fashion retail management role
