We are seeking an experienced Sponsorship & Partnership Specialist, to take on an exciting contract role with Mindful Fashion NZ. Building on the foundation of its Threads of Tomorrow report, Mindful Fashion has the vision to bring the fibre, textile, and clothing industry together for an inspiring summit. The goal is to accelerate the New Zealand industry’s contribution to a thriving, regenerative and circular economy in Aotearoa and while supporting international market access and export growth.

The Sponsorship & Partnership specialist will be responsible for securing partnerships that support the successful delivery of this project. This contract position requires a strategic thinker with strong relationship management skills, experience in sponsorship acquisition, and an understanding of the fashion, textiles, and sustainability landscape.

In this role, you will:

  • Represent MFNZ externally as a charismatic communicator who naturally builds relationships.

  • Identify sponsorship and partnership opportunities, and manage the business development process from introductions, bid and proposal development to negotiating successful agreements.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors and partners, ensuring their engagement and satisfaction.

  • Create compelling sponsorship proposals, pitch decks, and tailored partnership packages.

  • Monitor and track all funding engagement activity in the organisation’s database. Create methods and defined metrics for tracking progress of all business development activities and partnership deliverables.

The following experience & key skills are required for the role:

  • Proven track record with a relevant network of corporate/funder/Government relationships.

  • Experience within the fashion, textiles, creative, sustainability, or events sector preferred.

  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a confident communicator with executives.

  • Ability to create compelling sponsorship proposals and pitch decks.

  • Strategic mindset with a results-oriented approach.

  • A deep interest in sustainability and aligned values are required.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with excellent time management.

This is a contract position, for 5 hours a week over an initial period of 18 weeks. Remuneration is a combination of an hourly rate with an attractive bonus structure. The contract has the opportunity to extend and develop for the right person.

Mindful Fashion is a non-profit organisation established in 2019 on a mission to unite New Zealand’s clothing and textile industry ecosystem to create an innovative, full-circle, and thriving future.

With 120 members from across the fashion & textiles value chain in Aotearoa, MFNZ’s unique position drives collaboration and collective action towards a future where business, people and nature all thrive.
