We are seeking a confident and experienced Senior Designer to join a dynamic team on a maternity cover contract. With a strong market share, loyal stockists, and a devoted customer base across New Zealand and Australia, this is an opportunity to contribute to a successful, design-led brand with a distinctly feminine aesthetic.
As the Senior Designer, you will work closely with the Creative Director and outgoing Head Designer during a two-month handover, ensuring a seamless transition into the role. You’ll take ownership of seasonal collections, blending creativity with commercial awareness, and overseeing offshore development and production.
Key Responsibilities include:
Lead the design and development of seasonal collections in collaboration with the Creative Director.
Manage development and production processes with offshore manufacturers.
Create accurate spec packs, garment technical and oversee quality control.
Drive multiple design projects from concept to completion under tight timelines.
Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing and production teams.
Lead and contribute to the ongoing development of prints across ranges.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
Proven experience in fashion design, with strong range planning and tech pack execution.
Sound technical garment knowledge and experience working with offshore production.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel.
Strong leadership, time management and multitasking capabilities.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
Experience in print development is essential.
There is a real possibility this role will become permanent, either full or part time. They are also open to some flexibility with hours if you’re a senior designer seeking something less than full-time. The brand operates from a beautiful, light-filled office space based in Eden Terrace, Auckland.
