We’re seeking an experienced Merchandise Planning Managerto join one of New Zealand's most iconic lifestyle brands on a fixed term contract. Based in a central Auckland suburb, this role offers the opportunity to oversee a diverse product portfolio in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire product life cycle, from creation to sell-through analysis, ensuring smooth operations and supplier satisfaction.

  • Oversee and forecast buying requirements up to 18 months in advance, aligning with market trends and business goals.

  • Lead and optimise the Open to Buy (OTB) process, managing stock budgets and reviewing performance monthly with senior leadership.

  • Drive planning processes and improve stock management systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Provide leadership to a team of 4, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence in planning functions.

  • Partner with brand managers to create and review range plans and support proactive stock management.

  • Deliver actionable insights through regular stock and sales reporting, supporting markdown and clearance strategies.

  • Oversee vendor refill programs for hardware divisions, ensuring timely replenishment and stock optimisation.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven expertise in merchandise planning, ideally in the retail or wholesale sectors.

  • Strong skills in inventory management, forecasting, and advanced Excel proficiency.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and identify trends.

  • Experience leading a team, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • High-level organisational skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing system improvements.

  • Passion for outdoor sports and/or fashion products is a bonus!
