We’re seeking an experienced Merchandise Planning Managerto join one of New Zealand's most iconic lifestyle brands on a fixed term contract. Based in a central Auckland suburb, this role offers the opportunity to oversee a diverse product portfolio in a fast-paced and innovative environment. If you thrive on strategy, leadership, and delivering results, this could be your next career move.
Key responsibilities:
Manage the entire product life cycle, from creation to sell-through analysis, ensuring smooth operations and supplier satisfaction.
Oversee and forecast buying requirements up to 18 months in advance, aligning with market trends and business goals.
Lead and optimise the Open to Buy (OTB) process, managing stock budgets and reviewing performance monthly with senior leadership.
Drive planning processes and improve stock management systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Provide leadership to a team of 4, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence in planning functions.
Partner with brand managers to create and review range plans and support proactive stock management.
Deliver actionable insights through regular stock and sales reporting, supporting markdown and clearance strategies.
Oversee vendor refill programs for hardware divisions, ensuring timely replenishment and stock optimisation.
What we’re looking for:
Proven expertise in merchandise planning, ideally in the retail or wholesale sectors.
Strong skills in inventory management, forecasting, and advanced Excel proficiency.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and identify trends.
Experience leading a team, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
High-level organisational skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing system improvements.
Passion for outdoor sports and/or fashion products is a bonus!
